The educational and cultural Chautauqua Nexus series continues its 2008 spring semester roster with scheduled discussions.
鈥淗ow to Get Out of This Town and See the World (Without Enlisting)鈥 is the topic Monday, March 17; presented by Stephanie Masters. The talk will provide 鈥渁n explanation of living and traveling abroad with no experience and not a lot of money. Facts and opinions on work visas, finding housing, and flourishing somewhere other than the U.S.鈥
On Thursday, April 3, Joseph Roberts will speak about 鈥淭he Pagan Elements of Christianity.鈥
Nexus presentations are free, informal and open to the public. Everyone is invited to attend. 麻豆果冻传媒 FRYS students are encouraged to attend and sign in.
鈥淭he Nexus is an opportunity for intellectual and cultural exchange,鈥 said Joe McGahan, 麻豆果冻传媒 psychology professor and Chautauqua Nexus organizer. 鈥淭his year we're focusing on a change in scheduling (with Mondays being the primary meeting day) intended to free us to develop a think tank, or multiple think tanks, that, like the Nexus, will build on the cultural resources of our community. Whereas the Nexus series will continue to be about virtually any topic that people find interesting, the think tank will focus on economic security and economic development鈥攖o a large extent, we鈥檇 like to focus on the potential of research and development.鈥
